thanks :) i really advise you to buy the book. there are many casestudies there that can give you a better perspective on the blue ocean strategy and also graphs and tables that help you better build your selling product or service. i really loved the casestudy about Crique du Soleil, what they do is the typical blue ocean approach.

Hello trafford, thank you for leaving your comment. I totally agree with you and am actually buidling my business following exactly this strategy!

There are, however, many specialists that criticize the BOS and many people who failed in developing their business by trying to follow this strategy. Of course this is exactly where the BOS specialists come up. Unfortunately, there are not many start-ups who would pay for such a business intelligence service. According to me, this is why they fail.

The aim of BOS is not to out-perform the competition in the existing industry, but to create new market space or a blue ocean, thereby making the competition irrelevant. I think it is better to create new market space or a blue ocean rather than competing in the existing market. Blue Ocean Strategy experts can be very helpful in this regard.
