Sony launches Resistance 2018 – play on Twitter
The almighty Twitter – simple, free and accessible to all, outstanding growth in 2008 by 758%. Having these and other facts in mind i thought that nothing could surprise me with Twitter.

Sony Studios have launched an innovative game for the launch of their Playstation video game based on the Terminator Salvation movie. Resistance 2018 is a Twitter based and already has 2681 followers, all of whom with a common cause – surpassing artificial intelligence. The gameplay lies in accomplishing missions by solving enigmas and coded questions based on the characters and the plot of the movie. The goal is to get as many points as possible, of course. The more points you get, the more you get promoted and the more opportunities you have – joining other squads, including John Connor’s. As game and difficulty progress you get more and more points.
This particular promotional technique is the first one on Twitter. It kind of reminds me of the first MMORPG which were console based. Anyways this kind of strategy creates excellent synergy between the video game and the movie. Social media offers considerable and versatile commercial opportunities, one should just think implement them! Low-budget marketing is more possible and inspiring than ever!
